Mixed Bouquet with Sunflowers #1

This looser, brighter study captures a mixed bouquet from the same florist—sunflowers, pink and magenta blooms, and white textured flowers arranged in a mason jar against a pale background. I painted it as a quick sketch in my new Texas studio, the first real attempt to pick up the brush again after a long absence from flowers. The light feel and open background reflect that return: less finished still life, more of a simple hello to the familiar joy of working with petals and stems. It became a way to ease back into the practice before committing to more considered pieces.
