Orange Rose

These orange roses were so delicate in their petal edges yet so bright they felt almost impossible to pin down in watercolor alone. Instead of fighting for exactness I decided to have fun with them, layering extra color and drawing blue and purple lines along the contours so the orange would push forward and hold its own. The blooms fill the page in overlapping spirals of warm light and deeper shadow, the added hues making each curl more vivid rather than more precise. The result is a celebration of that particular brightness—the kind that seems too pure and too intense to capture quietly.
