These white blooms come from another corner of the yard, not the azaleas, and here the real subject is the vine that threads through and around them. The five-petaled flowers open with pale centers and dense yellow stamens, yet the green stems and leaves weave so tightly among them that it is hard to tell whether the vine is sheltering the blossoms, feeding them, or slowly closing in. I painted it because that ambiguity felt more interesting than a simple floral study—the way the same twisting growth can look supportive one moment and constricting the next. The result keeps the question open: the flowers stay luminous, but the vine is what decides how long they will last.
